Wedgie 5 vs. Wind Chiller vs. Gemini vs. Mega Snakebite
3…2…1…ACTIVATE!
Wedgie 5 storms away straight away, closely followed by the split of the clusterbot and the Firestorm like Wind Chiller. The 5mph Mega Snakebite trundles towards the pack very slowly. Wedgie 5, pretty much the favourite for this melee quickly gets into the swing of things and drives straight under Wind Chiller, tossing it upside down. Matty quickly opens up the flipper and springs his bot back to life. Both parts of Gemini go on the chase of Mega Snakebite and soon catch up. It takes both clusterbots to lift the huge weight of Mega Snakebite over though. Wedgie 5 gets straight back into the action again and flies under one part of Gemini and flips it with the wedge and the other part is then flipped using the flipper. Wind Chiller zooms in at top speed and rams the first part of Gemini against the arena wall. Gemini is being bullied by the flipper bots now. Wedgie 5 decides to slam the other part straight into the rear end of Mega Snakebite and the 20kg 3000rpm spinning bar sends the cluster flying into the sky with a huge dash in the side. The tyre is deflated and one part seems to be immobilized… and we all know what that means! Just to confirm it, Wind Chiller gets the right angle and manages to launch the other part right over the arena wall. 1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…10…OUT! Both part out, whole robot out! Wedgie 5 heads for the top of the arena to open up the arena pit. Meanwhile, Wind Chiller has managed to get under Mega Snakebite and has started turning it towards the dropping pit! The Solarized bot decides to give a hand and starts pushing the huge 150kg bot too… Richard opens up the jaws to try and get some leverage, with the feet and bar spinning wildly. But it’s just not enough as Wedgie 5 activates the flipper rolling Mega Snakebite into the pit of oblivion.

Just proves that walkers and clusterbots are a waste of time. Wedgie 5 and Wind Chiller go through!

Mr. Slave vs. Whirligig 4.0 vs. Destructophobic Mach II vs. Hector
(Kody has been knocked out of the tournament, so now we are left with three, two go through and one goes out)
3…2…1…ACTIVATE!
The two nasty looking full body spinners Mr. Slave and Whirligig 4.0 spin up straight away. Hector with its two huge claws approaches them both nervously, hoping to stop and grab one of them without being damaged. But with both spinners being so powerful, this will be hard… Hector first goes to the less experienced Mr. Slave, and drives in quickly slamming the jaws shut. But the numerous teeth on the body of Mr. Slave just knock it away, leaving some scars on the 5mm Aluminum Boron Carbide claws. Whirligig chooses this moment to attack and launches its fully spun up 34kg shell right into the back of Hector. Even the Tungsten and Aluminum combo can’t keep this amount of pressure out and Hector is left with some more heavy scars. Mr. Slave has meanwhile found time to spin its shell up again, and almost instantly hits Hector with another blow, sending it spinning round on the spot. We now have three full body spinners! Whirly comes scuttling in on its feet once again to deliver a fatal blow to poor old Hector. The heavily armoured crushbot is starting to feel the pain of these two hugely powerful spinners. It was designed to beat one, but not two. Hector finally manages to steer away while the others spin up and heads straight for the pit release – now the only hope! Whirligig and Mr. Slave follow behind giving Hector nowhere to go, so Alex simply drives Hector straight into Mr. Slave, stalling the spinner and closing the claws around the body! Steve senses his pal is in trouble and gives Hector one hell of a slam up the rear end once more, shaking it straight off Mr. Slave and most likely shaking it out completely! Both spinners back off to see if Hector is still alive, and it appears not, but Whirly decides to give it one last blow anyway. The clock lights up, and it looks like Hector is close to elimination.
1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…10…OUT!

Hector couldn’t hack it, Mr. Slave and Whirligig 4.0 go through!

Wedgie 5 vs. Mr. Slave
3…2…1…ACTIVATE!
The huge full body spinner Mr. Slave starts spinning up as soon as possible, and Wedgie 5 also charges in as fast as possible. The flipper bot takes a knock and it bounces to the side. Mr. Slave has slown and the pretty much impact proof Wedgie 5 quickly turns and gets the flipper blade right under the shell of Tony’s bot and takes no time to toss it onto its back, the tail makes it bounce back right onto the flipper and Emma drives both robots forwards and Dave flips! Mr. Slave is launched straight over the fence in a very short period of time.
CEASE!
Hit. Flip. Flip. End. Wedgie 5 goes through!

Wind Chiller vs. Whirligig 4.0
3…2…1…ACTIVATE!
Just like the previous Heat B Round 2 encounter, the battle begins with Whirligig 4.0 spinning up and Wind Chiller charging straight at it. Wind Chiller comes off the worse and is flung away but the feet of Whirligig are keeping it firmly on the spot! The spinning shell quickly gets back up to speed and another attack is launched on the 7mm Ali armour of Wind Chiller, which is standing up quite well. Matty drives his bot forwards and goes straight under the shell of Whirly, neither robot being affected by the attack. Steve puts Whirligig in reverse and Wind Chiller’s rear skirt is simply ripped away on the first impact. The momentum of the attack spins Wind Chillers front round straight into the shell again, another nasty gash is inserted. Wind Chiller has decided enough is enough and goes straight for Plan B – the pit release. The pit starts to lower, and Wind Chiller makes a getaway quickly, leading the oncoming Whirly straight into the pit tyre, shredding it and sending it flying across the ring. A game of kiss chase begins, with Wind Chiller running away. Matty knows this kiss will have some nasty teeth behind it (sorry everyone). Some good driving needs to be put into practice as Whirligig is slightly faster than Wind Chiller, and the 2mph advantage could be enough. Both robots circle the pit, changing direction trying to catch each other out, and it is starting to get a bit boring so the arena effects d00d decides to raise the pit. Whirly immediately flies across the pit and gives Wind Chiller one hell of a wallop, sending it spinning on the spot wildly. Whirligig goes in once more but Wind Chiller dodges very well and manages to get right under Whirly and tosses him upside down! An attack and a clever dodge comes out of nowhere and all of a sudden Wind Chiller takes control and pushes Whirligig into the corner using the wedge. The corner saws do no damage whatsoever to the thick ring of Whirligig. Wind Chiller reverses and charges in once more and slides the flipper under Whirly and fires! The yellow Scottish spinner is suddenly on the back foot and propped up against the arena wall. Wind Chiller is a flip away from one of the best comebacks ever and a huge shock, but it has to be done quickly as 10 seconds light up on the board! 9…8…7… Wind Chiller races back in 6…5…4… The scuttling of feet of Whirligig finally rock it down right side up but onto the flipper 3…2…1… The flipper fires and Whirligig rocks….and comes down with a thud back into the arena

It was close but the damage caused by Whirligig 4.0 at the beginning was too much in the end.

Wedgie 5 vs. Whirligig 4.0
3…2…1…ACTIVATE!
Again, just as in the Round 2 encounters, the fully body spinner starts spinning and the flipper comes in on the charge. This time though, Whirligig moves towards Wedgie 5 and the impact is much greater, sending both robots repelling away like magnets. Whirligig takes almost no time to get back up to full revs again and goes on the chase of Wedgie 5. Wedgie turns around and decides to drive straight at Whirly! The both meet in a head on collision but neither get damaged or thrown away and this gives Wedgie the perfect moment to throw Whirligig onto its back! The yellow peril starts spinning again, and gives Wedgie a knock. Whirly is seeming to be difficult to drive with the controls reversed and the gyroscopic forces and Team Solarized are taking full advantage of this. Wedgie takes in another blow to stall the shell, and starts driving Whirly towards the arena wall! The pneumatic flipper fires but the Scot bot survives, and is now right way up. Whirligig 4.0 starts spinning around madly on the spot to get the spinning ring even faster! Wedgie 5 again goes for the same tactic and drives straight into Whirly’s shell to stall it… but this time the whole flipper gets buckled and Whirly seems to be back on top as it starts to push Wedgie 5 back. Dave fires the flipper, but it seems to have lost a lot of power as it fails to hoist Whirly over. The Gig spins up again, but this time Wedgie attacks with the rear end. The shell is stalled but the rear end is mangled. Wedgie 5 turns on the spot and gets under Whirly and starts pushing it towards the wall and flip! Again, Steve’s bot refuses to go over the fence but its now caught in the corner… Wedgie flips again and Whirly come down with a bump, each flip Wedgie wastes, it seems to be less capable of getting it OOTA. Dave hits flip once more and Whirligig is propped up against the wall, just like in its previous encounter with Wind Chiller. The flipper blade goes under…the legs start shuffling…whoosh! The flipper projects Whirligig straight over the arena wall and out of the competition!

Lots of repair work needs to be done, but Wedgie 5 goes through to the series semi finals!
