SOR 4.0
Shape: Once again SOR is a box-wedge shape, but this time the side wheel guards and wheels have been removed and have been replaced with some stylish sloped sides that should hopefully help deflect side attacks from spinners and flippers. This resembles a taller version of Storm II.
Colour: The whole robot is sprayed black and SOR is written across the top in red.
Dimensions: 800mm x 700mm x 200mm (Length x Width x Height)
Speed: The robot can reach a top speed of around 13mph, not the quickest around but it gives almost instant acceleration to top speed and great control.
Turning Circle: SOR uses a skid steer system like Tornado, so zero.
Ground Clearance: 0mm on the front wedge, 3mm at the sides and 10mm at the back of the robot.
Armour: 3.2mm thick Hardox 600 armour all over the body, this should give great protection against most weapon types.
Motivation: Each wheel has an S28-150 Magmotor powering it, giving around 13mph but not fantastic pushing power (Only around 6hp) the whole system is run on 24v and the motors are powered by NiMH packs running on 24v. This time the motors have aluminum covers over the top of them to stop any overheating, it also acts as s bit or protection to stop bits getting inside and to stop them being shaken around a bit. There are also some more sections added to the hull made of Aluminum 6061 with drilled sections that should keep the motors cool for definite. There are two wheels, each made of Aluminum and have a layer of Vullkolan bonded on for extra traction.
Weapons: The main weapon remains a flipping arm, this time it’s rear hinged again. Running off a 80mm bore ram fed with CO2 at a pressure of 145psi it can easily hoist another robot onto it’s back. The gas is contained in two 2.2kg canisters giving around 30 flips per fight. The rear spinner has now changed; it is now on the horizontal axis meaning SOR can self-right without the spinner getting in the way. It is made of aluminum and has two Hardox teeth to damage the other robots, it’s driven off a LEM130 Lynch Motor run on 48v giving it about 9hp, the disc weighs around 6kg in weight and is approximately 300mm in diameter, it doesn’t dish out much energy but it can damage most armour to pickup some more points.
SRIMECH: The flipper can self-right the robot easily.
Strengths: Good all-rounder.
Weaknesses: Limited weaponry power.

Psyclonic
Shape: Flat cylindrical shape with a ring around the circumference
Dimensions: 900mm x 150mm (Inner Robot) 1000mm x 150mm (With Ring)
Motivation: Four custom Aluminum hubs with a layer of vulk bonded round the edge.
Drive: Two LEM130 Lynch Motors running at 36v from a NiCad BattlePack.
Speed: Can reach a top speed of around 15mph.
Turning Circle: The skid steering method allows it to turn on the spot.
Ground Clearance: 10mm under the ring and main body.
Armour: Only top and bottom armour is needed, both panels are made of 3.25mm thick Hardox WarePlate.
Weapons: The weapon is a 100mm thick ring made of 5mm thick Hardox. It is spun around the body by a big B42-500 Magmotor run at 60v, producing around 32hp. It is geared to 5:1 to give almost instant spin up times and great top speeds. The shell also has three Hardox teeth, which can rip robots up in seconds. With the speed, maneuverability and power added to the destructive ability this is something you do not want to mess with.
Self-Righting Mechanism: The robot can also work upside down.
Notes: After self-righting difficulties with the previous two bots, Psyclonic is now invertible. All parts inside are shock mounted so that attacks do not shake itself out.
FP4.0
Shape: Pretty much identical to the S7 version of Tornado, a compact box with an angled rear for helping to drive up ramps. There is no wedge at the front, it is flat.
Dimensions: 800mm x 800mm x 200mm (Length x Width x Height)
Motivation: Four wide custom made Aluminum hubs with a layer of Vulkolan bonded around the edge to give loads of traction on the arena surface. These wheels can be interchanged with spiked versions of the wheel.
Drive: As before, two B42-500 Magmotors are used to drive the wheels. The motors are powered by 250 C-Cell NiCad batteries, which produces the 60v needed to make the 64hp, frightening from a 100kg robot.
Speed: The speed is kept down to 15mph to give much better control of the power and drive train, giving it an advantage against fast robots.
Turning Circle: The Tornado style skid steer means FP4.0 can turn on the spot.
Ground Clearance: 10mm all the way round, both ways up.
Skirts: 6mm thick Ti/V skirts can be attached to the sides using a rotary joint.
Armour: 6mm thick Hardox monocoque.
Weapons: The main form of attack if the front hinged wedge made of 8mm Titanium. It works both ways up so there is no danger when being flipped. At the back, there is a small vertical triangular Manta style blade powered by a S28-150 Magmotor at 12v.
Self-Righting Mechanism: Invertible, the blade stops it resting on its front; the rear is shaped so it cannot land there and the side skirts stop it resting there. When the skirts are removed bars are added to the side to have the same effect.
Notes: Tornado on acid, lots of acid.
Wedga Revo (Version 2.0)
Shape: A cut off wedge like Steg 2, instead of the wedged front these is now a scoop that the lifting arm rests inside in its normal position. The sides and back are all slightly slanted to deflect spinners.
Dimensions: 800mm x 700mm x 150mm (Length x Width x Height)
Motivation: Driving Wedga Revo are six Aluminum hubs with a layer of Vullkolan bonded on for extra grip on the arena surface, these are 140mm in diameter and 50mm in width.
Drive: Driving the wheels are two LEM130 Lynch Motors run on 48v from a 3300mAh NiCad botpack. This gives approximately 18hp that should out push quite a few robots and makes a great combination with the front scoop. The robot is under the control of a Vantec speed controller meaning the power is all controlled and put to good use.
Speed: Wedga Revo can reach a top speed of about 15mph so it’s nice and controlled and has a decent acceleration to top speed.
Turning Circle: Wedga Revo uses a skid steering system like Tornado so that it can turn on the spot but maybe not as well as two wheel drive robots.
Ground Clearance: There is around 10mm of clearance all around the robot minus the front scoop that rests along the ground so it can get under virtually anything, the sides and back are skirted and rest together at the corners giving it 0mm clearance all the way around the robot.
Skirts: The skirts are made of 5mm thick Grade 5 Titanium and are hinged to the sides and back of the robot by a rotary joint, the skirts all meet at the corners meaning it is very hard to get under the robot from any angle.
Armour: The baseplate is constructed of 5mm thick Aluminum, that should protect the bottom if for any reason another robot manages to flip and attack the bottom. The front scoop is made of 3.2mm thick Hardox that is very hard to bend of shatter if not impossible. This is used for deflecting spinner attacks and general scooping up and pushing around. The top, sides and back are all made of 6mm thick Grade 5 Titanium that are all bolted onto the 50mm Hardox box section chassis.
Weapons: The main weapon is a flipping arm that is hinged at the rear of the robot and rests down the wedge and inside the front scoop so if a spinner hits the front scoop the arm should not be damaged. The flipping arm is 100mm wide and is made of Grade 5 Titanium and is shaped like the scoop at the front so it can flip any robots on the front scoop easily. It is powered by a big 80mm bore 100mm stroke custom-made Aluminum ram. This is pumped with CO2 gas at a pressure of 150psi contained in two 2.2kg canisters and a 1.1kg buffer tank giving around 35 flips in a fight. This should mean the flipper can produce around 540kgs of force each flip that should send other robots flying! This set up can comfortably flip 400kg so any heavyweight class robot should not be too much of a problem. The front scoop/rear skirt and drive train are also a great way of ramming robots around the arena and can work well with the flipper for flipping robots out of the arena.
Self-Righting Mechanism: The flipper can self-right the robot with ease with stylish jumps off the ground.
Notes: An almost unchanged version, just with a modified bodywork.
OmniForce
Shape: Shaped like the Series 7 Tornado, just a box with that angled rear end.
Dimensions: 800mm x 600mm x 200mm (Length x Width x Height)
Drive: Four LEM130’s (one for each wheel) powered at 36v.
Speed: 10mph, I understand omnibots sacrifice their speed.
Turning Circle: Absolute zero, this thing can turn right on the spot no problem.
Ground Clearance: 10mm around the side and back, 0 at the front under the wedge but like you’ll ever get a chance to get to the sides and back.
Armour: 3.25mm thick Hardox monocoque.
Weapons: Front invertible wedge used for ramming opponents with.
Self-Righting Mechanism: Works upside down, but try flipping it first.
Motivation: This thing uses a complicated but stylish drive system. There are four inner aluminium wheels, but instead of having tyres on them they have small rollers in a diagonal sort of fashion. With the four motors controlling separate wheels and the strange shaped wheels this makes it an omnibot. With this drive it means the front can always face the opposition robot. This system means the robot can drive forwards and backwards like any other robots, but it also has a perfect turning circle. But the real bonus of this system is that OmniForce can also move diagonally and also strafe side to side to either dodge attack or get in position for a perfect ram. If you want more information on how this system works just ask me and I’ll do my best to explain it. Meanwhile you can watch this video and see just how OmniForce can move around: robotics.ee.uwa.edu.au/eyebot/mpg/omni3.mpg
Notes: I believe this is the first FRA Forum style statted OmniBot.
Strengths: Awesome ability of moving anywhere it wants to in any direction.
Weakness: Mechanism does not work on unsmooth floors, and the system means it is slow.
GigaByte (Version 1.5)
Gigabyte
Shape: A big pair of pliers just like Tough as Nails.
Dimensions: 750mm x 1000mm x 200mm (Length x Width x Height) [Weapon open]
Motivation: Four aluminum wheels with a layer of Vulkolan bonded on for extra grip; these are actually inside the claws (two in each) and can work whether the weapon is open or closed. Spiked wheels can be added for grip on wooden surfaces.
Drive: Two LEM130 Lynch Motors powered by a NiCad BattlePack producing 36v giving around 18hp to push other robots with.
Speed: It can reach a top speed of around 20mph.
Turning Circle: Can turn on the spot with the weapon opened or closed.
Ground Clearance: 10mm all the way around.
Armour: 5mm thick Hardox WearPlate welded together to form a monocoque, all the edges are rounded off to make sure spinners can’t catch on and rip the panels off.
Weapons: The whole body works as a pair of claws just like Tough as Nails. The claws are shut in under a second using a 80mm bore 200-stroke ram. The ram is fired using Nitrogen at a pressure of 1000psi, which is contained in two 2.2kg canisters, which should mean there are enough shots for a fight. To make everything even faster there are two 1.1kg buffer tanks, which means things are going to find it hard escaping once they are between the claws. This should be able to cause major to damage to most robots armour. The ends of the claws are made of sharpened Titanium so they can slice into robots better. The whole set-up is capable of producing a bone crunching 3500kg of force at the ram.
Self-Righting Mechanism: Can work just as well inverted.
Notes: Everything is shock mounted and rubber is positioned around all the parts so it can survive the impact caused by the attacks.
Yet Another Cut Above The Rest
Shape: A long drum for the main body with boxes at either end.
Dimensions: 500mm x 1000mm x 200mm (Length x Width x Height)
Motivation: In either of the square side pods are a wheel 250mm in diameter, each is made of an Aluminium hub with a layer of Vulkolan bonded around the edge for maximum grip on the arena floor.
Drive: Driving the wheels are two LEM130 Lynch Motors run at 48v.
Speed: The motors are geared for speed. Because of its axlebot nature it can’t push very well so it has a 15mph speed with great acceleration.
Turning Circle: Zero turning circle using tank style steering.
Ground Clearance: Under the side pods it is around 25mm and under the central drum it is around 35mm. The yawning clearance around the side pods is solved by skirting reducing it to 0mm.
Skirts: Simple 4mm thick Grade 5 Titanium skirts attached to the sides using a durable rotary joint. To see how the skirts work you’ll need to see the picture.
Armour: Other than the skirts the rest of the body is made of 3.25mm thick Hardox which should keep the innards safe from most attacks hopefully.
Weapons: A huge 750mm diameter horizontal spinning disc inside the main drum section. Its is laser cut out of Hardox making it very durable, the teeth are also cut into this shape and later sharpened for great results when colliding with an opponent. It is powered by an LEM200 on 48v which produces about 52hp (correct me if I’m wrong) which can cause some serious damage.
Self-Righting Mechanism: Due to its weird shape is should always land on its wheels. Its invertible so either way up will work.

GeForce Evo 3.0
Shape: A low wedge with sloped sides and a sloped rear.
Dimensions: 800mm x 600mm x 250mm (Length x Width x Height)
Motivation: Four aluminum wheels with a layer of Vulkolan bonded on for extra grip.
Drive: Two LEM130 Lynch Motors on 48v powered by 120x 3000mAh NiCad cells producing 12amps.
Speed: It can reach a top speed of around 15mph.
Turning Circle: The robot can spin on the spot using a Tornado like skid steering system.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front going up to about 10mm at the back.
Armour: 3.25mm Hardox 450 monocoque.
Weapons: The main weapon is a rear hinged full pressure flipper. It is powered by an 80mm bore ram that is pumped with Nitrogen gas at 1000psi. The power of the flipper is reduced using a reverse lifting ratio that means it is capable of flipping 1500kg at the tip. The gas is contained in two 2.2kg canisters giving over 20 flips per fight. The flipper has a Titanium blade for getting under other robots better.
Self-Righting Mechanism: The flipper can self-right GeForce in a 540 degree flip.
Notes: Lightly upgraded in the armour department.
